Bastob Joins Football Staff

The Richmond R-XVI Athletic Department is pleased to announce that Duane Bastob will be joining the RHS football staff as an assistant coach. Coach Bastob will make the move from the girls' tennis program to football. Bastob has been the head girls' tennis coach for the past six seasons.

Bastob has a long football resume including his college playing days at William Jewell University where he played defensive end and tight end. After college, Bastob started coaching as an assistant football coach at Oak Park High School. Bastob later became the head football coach at South Holt High School where his won a state championship (8-man) in 2004. Bastob's quarterback on that state title team would later become a teammate of Coach Persell at William Jewell.

"Coach Bastob brings a lot of football coaching experience with him. He has been a head coach and an assistant under Keith Ross at Oak Park. We are excited to add Coach Bastob to our staff."
